Interwoven in Palm Beach

February 13 - March 29, 2026

Christina Painter, Barnyard Chicken II, 2025, Cyanotype on linen, 14 x 11 inches

Interwoven brings together a group of contemporary artists who use fiber and textile-based materials as both medium and metaphor. Spanning fabric, embroidery, thread, and unconventional woven elements, the works in this exhibition examine how materials traditionally associated with craft are reimagined within a contemporary fine art context. Through meticulous process and tactile surfaces, the artists elevate fiber into a powerful language for storytelling and conceptual inquiry.

Across the exhibition, themes of identity, heritage, and transformation emerge as connective threads. For some artists, textiles reference personal or cultural histories, acts of remembrance embedded in cloth, pattern, and repetition. For others, fiber becomes a site of transformation, where familiar materials are manipulated, layered, or repurposed to challenge expectations of form and permanence. The physical act of weaving, stitching, or binding mirrors broader ideas of construction and repair, reflecting how identities and narratives are continually shaped over time.

Featuring works by Michelle Drummond, Melissa Calderon, Christina Painter, Federico Uribe, Deniz Kurdak, and Mulyana, Interwoven highlights diverse approaches to fiber while underscoring a shared commitment to material experimentation. Together, these artists reveal the expressive and conceptual depth of textile-based practices, inviting viewers to consider the emotional, cultural, and symbolic weight carried by the threads that connect us.
