Cabinet of Curiosities

March 13 - April 13, 2026

Patrick Hughes, Shelf Contained, 2026, Oil on board construction, 24 × 36 × 12 ¼ inches

Cabinet of Curiosities brings together a group of contemporary artists whose works are connected through a shared sense of discovery and observation. Rather than focusing on a single medium or style, the exhibition is unified by its interest in the unusual—small-scale works, collected objects, and images that reference or resemble curiosities. Each piece invites close looking, rewarding attention with unexpected details and associations.

Inspired by historical cabinets of curiosity, the exhibition considers how objects are gathered, arranged, and understood. Some works are presented in clusters or grids, echoing systems of classification and display, while others explore illusion, transformation, or material experimentation. Across these approaches, the artists examine how meaning can emerge through accumulation, juxtaposition, and careful observation.

Featuring works by François Bel, Anthony Burks, Sam Earle, Patrick Hughes, Magdalena Murua, Dan Peterson, Aithan Shapira, Steven Spazuk, and Alexander Zakharov, Cabinet of Curiosities highlights a range of practices while emphasizing a shared focus on curiosity itself—how we look, what we collect, and why certain objects hold our attention.
