We recently received eleven works by Jamie Wyeth from one of our long-time collectors, who have been buying the artist's paintings steadily since the 1980s. We thought to supplement this collection with earlier, later, and other works, but keep the focus of non-figurative subject matter. We invited Elliot Bostwick Davis, Ph.D., former Curator of American Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, who curated Jamie's retrospective in 2014, to lend her critical eye to the project. She has produced the incisive and brilliant essay herein.
We are especially pleased to offer our audience “Pumpkin Shadow,” an exhibition of 22 special paintings which span six decades of Jamie Wyeth’s peerless body of work.
