While creating Little Winfred, I worked more in my father's style as a test of my skill and to show my admiration. In the background of this portrait of Dad when he was 11 or 12 years old is a representation of cotton fields. I was motivated by the stories he shared when I was a kid about how badly he wanted to leave those fields behind.
